Delivery Express Logistics is a philanthropic company. We are passionate about being active in the communities we serve. And for that service we recently received a community award from the Girl Scouts of Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho.
In May, during the heart of Girl Scout cookie season, our Spokane warehouse and distribution center received and stored more than 300 pallets of Girl Scout cookies. We picked up and built orders for 37 different troops across Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho, including remote areas of Eastern Washington.
And on top of that, we also coordinated and hosted a mega drop at our Spokane warehouse and distribution center. We staged 160 pallets of Girl Scout cookies in our parking lot. And they were staged in a way that allowed troops to pick up cookies in an assembly line fashion without leaving their vehicles. The troops arrived in all different types of vehicles, including 26’ box trucks, pickup trucks, SUVs and vans.
For our partnership, Delivery Express Logistics earned a community award from the Girl Scouts of Eastern Washington and North Idaho. In a letter from board chair Nancy Fike and CEO Brian Newburry, the award “recognizes community members that have supported a service unit or the council as a whole.”
“We honor that you are changing our community for the better every day,” reads the letter. “Please know your dedication to this council has made an impact, you have gone above and beyond. Your dedication is strong. Not only does our movement make the world a better place, so do you.”
And we can’t share this accomplishment without recognizing the Delivery Express Logistics operations team that earned this community award. We want to give a special thanks to Alex Lopez, Jared Vlahovich, Anna Bjerke, Storm Bliss, Julie Bliss, and Andrea Ray.
The Girl Scouts of Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho community award models our vision to be indispensable to our customers. And it also reaffirms our commitment to community. We proudly support The Sophia Way, Bellevue Police Foundation, the Seattle/King County Clinic and many other local events, organizations, and associations.
